Brandon Hunt Memorial Scholarship Fund

Scholarship Guidelines

Purpose: The Christian Waterfowlers Association Brandon Hunt Memorial Scholarship will provide financial support in the amount of a one time payment of $500.00 to a high school graduate or college student pursuing post-secondary education at a college, institute or university.

Criteria for selection includes leadership, academic performance, connection to community and embodiment of the Christian Waterfowlers Association Mission.  (continued below)

CWA Mission:

The Christian Waterfowlers Association is a L-E-A-D-E-R in all things related to waterfowl hunting:

L – Land purchased, leased or received by charitable donation for waterfowl hunting and conservation

E – Evangelism, using the outdoors to reach the unchurched.

A – Adoption of conservation principles and techniques that promote responsible use of the outdoors.

D – Discipleship, use of the lessons taken from the outdoors to promote growth in Christ.

E – Expansion of waterfowl hunting and its benefits both environmentally and relationally.

R – Relationships forged within families around the love of waterfowl hunting and the outdoors.

Students must graduate with a minimum 2.75 GPA.

Application for the scholarship includes providing a current transcript and completion of an essay. The essay must address how the applicant exemplifies the CWA Mission of preserving our Christian, waterfowling heritage through both academic and personal life experience.  Examples should be provided and the essay limited to no less than 500 words and no more than 800 words.

Please email your name, address and contact information including your current high school or college.  If you are currently a high school student, please list the name of the college, institution and or university you are planning to attend along with a copy of your transcript and essay to info@thecwa.org by June 30, 2017.  After a review by the selection committee, the winner will be announced and will be awarded at our National Benefit Dinner July 29, 2017 at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AR.

Please note:  This will be our second $500.00 Scholarship to be awarded to a student in the Northwest AR. area.
